GALL STONES DIET


DIET ADVICE FOR GALL STONE PATIENTS :-

1] DO NOT OVEREAT.
2] DO NOT EAT UNDER STRESS.
3] EAT ONLY FRESH FOODS AND TRY TO TAKE MORE OF ORGANIC FOOD - DO NOT EAT PACKAGED FOODS.
4] DRINK LOTS OF WATER.
5] AVOID REFINED CARBOHYDRATES ( INCLUDING SUGAR & WHITE FLOUR). AVOID SATURATED & TRANS FATS, EAT MORE POLYUNSATURATED FATS.
6] LOSE WEIGHT IF YOU ARE OVERWEIGHT. DO REGULAR EXERCISES.
7] EAT SMALL SMALL QUANTITY OF FOOD 4 TIMES A DAY RATHER EATING HEAVY MEALS TWICE A DAY.

HELPFUL FOODS:-

Beets
Cucumbers
Okra
Sweet potatoes
Avocados – a good way to get needed fats directly from food
Vinegars all types
Garlic & garlic oil and onions help with liver cleansing but not processed types like flakes or powder.
Tomatoes – ripe
cold water fish- salmon, trout
Lemons (lemon juice in the morning with hot water helps to clean the liver).
Berries, papaya, pears. Ginger root
Coconuts
Apples particularly including apple juice
Apricots, Walnuts, berries, casaba melons, currants, figs, guavas, lemons, prunes. Radishes will help.
Tumeric (organic)
Omega 3 oils like flax or hemp. Use these with fresh lemon juice or vinegar on your salads. 
DO NOT COOK flax oil.
Vegetable juices – Beet and cucumber are especially helpful to gallbladder.
Fibers  found in fruits and vegetables and guar gum are helpful.

FOOD TO BE AVOIDED :-

Alcohol, eggs, meat, chicken, pork.
saturated fats & hydrogenated oils. Cheese, butter and coffee. Fried and spicy foods.
Avoid all artificial sweeteners, sugar, preservatives, refined and bleached foods.
Avoid smoking if possible as it can worsen the disease.
